08 with clicking locks and lights coming on while parked

We had this problem and it was solved by the dealership replacing the body control interface.

Hope that can help someone.

All the best,

Re: 2008 Taurus X Engine Rattle

The Foseal dongle https://amzn.to/2oRihle and Torque App on your smart phone is awesome. There are some custom CSV files that will let you look deeply into the PCM/ECU's parameters. More info and some more links here: http://www.fordtransitusaforum.com/forumindex.php and on other forums. Can you pos...

Re: Noisey rear hubs anyone?

Thanks for the replies. Both hubs were bad. One was worse than the other. No more growling. We ski and I usually rinse the car when we come down from driving through snow, slush and gravel they put down. They don't use salt but occasionally de-icer. More than likely some water got in passed the seal...

Noisey rear hubs anyone?

We recently replaced our rear brake pads and rotors. Now we have what sounds like a bad hub. It growls at speed. One of our winter tires had a slight flat spot that was causing a vibration. Not sure if that was a contributor. Our T-rex is at about 50K. We ordered new Timken hubs and will have our me...

Re: seems to surge at low speed/ coming to a stop

My 08 does this on occasion and I don't think it is a big deal. Seems more noticeable dropping into 2nd while slowing down. I am close to 50K and planning on changing the transmission fluid. I'm hoping my tranny will appreciate the new fluid and smooth out a bit.

Re: Battery replacement for T-rex

If you are using gadgets for extended periods with the engine off, an AGM battery might be worth the extra cost. More information on different batteries here:

Re: replace air vents

It's a bit lame of Ford that they look like they should turn and don't. They do have side to side and up/down control so not really needed to direct the airflow. Although it could be improved. I think your best option would be to see if you can modify the existing vents. There are most likely some n...

Re: DIY - Taurus X Intermediate shaft seal replacement

Local dealership (Ray Schultens in The Dalles, OR) fixed my '08 yesterday at 35,071 miles. Service history showed that the seal(s) had been done before. It took the tech a little over 2 hours and there was no charge for the repair. :)

Re: What to pay for an '09 Limited.

I bought my '08 Limited AWD in January for around $21K. It had 26K miles at the time. I looked at vehicles all over the country and that seemed like a decent price. I wanted a specific color (all white) and certain options. Local dealers had similar cars priced in the $24-26K range. There were some ...

Re: Should this be considered totalled?

Make sure you file a PIP claim for your injury/hospital stay, lost time from work, etc. Your insurance should pay even though fault will most likely be placed with the other driver. The insurance companies are out to screw you. There is no doubt about that. Don't accept from or say anything to them....

You might want to contact Progress. http://www.progressauto.com/

I think my T-rex sits pretty low already. At least it doesn't have a hideous amount of tire gap (dead cat clearance) that some SUVs have.

I have the original 18" wheels. I'll probably hold onto them for now.
