Re: Adding/fixing 06' Freestyle

Glad you are liking your new wheels. Freestyle is a great car as long as don't run into any transmission issues. This car has cvt transmission. No one will repair or rebuild this transmission that I called in Michigan. My recommendation is to drain the fluid and put new oem fluid every 50,000 miles....

Re: Remote start

Freestyle never came with remote start. You can add aftermarket remote start. My after market has box which is antenna mounted near rearview mirror.

Re: Rear Coolant Lines

Mine sprung leak today as well. Had into repair shop for a.c. recharge and alignment. They also quoted by-passing the rear heater core. $160 to by pass? I told them I would take care of it. Ordered new rear heater core from autozone for $50. My kids like heat in back in winter.

Re: P0171 (spark plugs and manifold gaskets change)

There are vac lines that run down the center of the manifold. Trying to slide and position manifold back in these lines can get caught under manifold then when manifold gets tightened down could pinch. I accidentally did this on mine. Pulled manifold and replaced the vac line payed more attention wh...

Re: Identify these for me, Please.

First picture is pcv connection. That plastic line runs to pcv valve. Rubber hose runs coolent so throttle body does not build up with ice in winter.

2nd part is evap purge valve with electrical connection.

Re: Intermittent p0701 HELP! 2006 ford five hundred AWD

Hey, for future reference the ford five hundred also came with 6 speed trans which you can find used ones for around $350. 6 speed was on 2 wheel drive. So if went to 6 speed would only have 2 wheel drive. When I called around trans shop charge about $500 to swap out trans.(only called 1 shop). So m...

Re: Intermittent p0701 HELP! 2006 ford five hundred AWD

That is your problem.... Need motorcraft filter... Which is the oem filter.... Others on here had issue when not using the oem filter. Could drain the fluid and filter fluid through a white t-shirt to get any debree out. Sounds like you have fresh fluid in it. Rockauto was cheapest for the oem fluid...

Re: Intermittent p0701 HELP! 2006 ford five hundred AWD

I had issue in the past only when temp got below 30F. I pulled the trans pan and the filter was not seated properly. Dropped to ground when pulled the pan. Put new filter in and made sure was seated. When I had issue, If warmed up the car then turned off and restarted the codes would go away. link f...
