Re: New Radio

The trim kit was purchased at the same time as the radio and from the same source, Crutchfield. The site suggests the needed kit, and it's often thrown in free if you buy a radio. That kit had what was needed to turn the unused space into the storage space.

Re: sell my 08

Go to any used car site with my specs and the car 'asks' about $19,000-$23,000. I'm not seeing this, at least not as a trade-in value. You don't say the year of your T-X, so I assumed it was an '09. With 15,000 miles on an SEL in "excellent" condition, Kelley Blue Book gives a trade-in value for yo...

Re: Synthetic Oil

We can all point to a source that supports our cause. Sure, you did just that! As did you. There's no reasonable argument on this, unless you want to argue with basic science. I'm not arguing with basic science, I'm applying it. Your argument is the same one people make when they assume that all yo...

Re: Synthetic Oil

We can all point to a source that supports our cause. This site recommends against using synthetic oil in a high-mileage car. It also, interestingly, recommends not using it during the initial, break-in stage of an engine's life. This does shoot down my argument that you shouldn't bother to switch t...

Re: Synthetic Oil

By the second oil change, it's all going to be out of there. It's just oil, not some sorta physics-defying miracle liquid! I don't agree with this. The oil coats everything, and nobody ever flushes the crankcase they way they do, say, the cooling system when replacing coolant. When you change the o...

Re: Synthetic Oil

Personally, I think folks often worry too much about motor oil, not enough about the other fluids in the car (driveline, brake, PS, transmission). Excellent point. I think if you checked back through every post on the My Ford Freestyle site and all the problems people have posted about, not one cou...

Re: Synthetic Oil

I bought my 07 freestyle in july of 2011 it had 75k at the time. At my first oil change i started using full synthetic. And i now have 85k and i have never had any problems. I have always done this when purchasing a new car. And i have not been disappointed yet. So you've had 10,000 miles of no pro...

Hello.

I don't think it's spam. I think it's just careless typing.

I notice he hasn't exactly rushed back here to see if anyone responded to his post.

Re: sell my 08

Well, to begin with, a little more info from you would help. Give us a bit more info about the car. Mileage? Condition? Everything working? Routine maintenance performed as required? Any known problems? What's your asking price? Where are you advertising it? Have you had any lookers at all? Have you...

Anything with a USB port, including the two units suggested in this thread and almost anything else sold these days, will work.

Re: Going to best buy today or Friday

Yes, get what's on sale. I'd look for the features you want (aux/USB/SD input, satellite, mp3 CD capability, etc.) and not worry about the brand. Over the years, I've bought JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, and Alpine aftermarket radios and have never had problems with any of them. I think if you stick with a...

Good work! Did you also send a copy to the dealer? How long between when you sent the letter to the AG until you heard from the dealer?

Re: New Radio

I replaced the stock radio in my '05 Freestyle almost immediately after buying the car new in June 2005. I wanted satellite radio, so I bought a JVC head unit with a satellite radio attachment, which was mounted behind the radio under the dash. As mmsstar noted, getting to the radio is very easy, an...

Well, before I would look for a lot of dirt. Afterwards, I'd look for less dirt.
