Re: Hearing a sputter or knock in Park.

well, thought you had the noise located before. saw the video, its clearly not the "Blop-Blop-Blop-Blop" noise at Park and Neutral that you hear when the CVT's Input Shaft/Bearings are initially damaged. Yes, it sounds much more like the steel grinding noise that was heard daily when the CVT was al...

Re: 2006 Freestyle AWD Limited (2) Issues PO701 and Coolant Warning Light On

the behavior in cold weather you described is consistent with what others who live in the colder climes have also reported in the past. the cure was found out to be to warm the car till it reached maximum operating temperature before driving it at all during the cold weather. i would suggest you try...

Re: The Dreaded CVT

i would just put a good USED CVT in it "IF" the noise has already graduated to a helicopter noise.....if i could remember well, i think the savable point is when when the noise is at just a whine (not so sure now as its been a while). from my experience with ours back then, noise went from WHINE to ...

Re: 2005 ford freestyle awd sel

can you take the Negative battery terminal off for like 30 minutes to clear the PCM, then start the car and drive it around for a while/hours/days as long as it would permit, then get it scanned with a Code Reader and post it all here?

Re: How to replace a clockspring.

Thank you Jas88, I watched a youtube video that was somehow similar to the freestyle, but I have to agree with you that I need a manual to look at before I even go deeper. hi mr minnesota_nice, i posted the Service Manual PDF HOW TO section for this specific job sometime ago, i remember posting it ...
