Re: Local Ford dealer quoted me 60k transmission service w/o

At 60K - I think the recommendation is just a fluid drain and fill. I don't think the High Pressure Filters need to be changed till 100K.

Re: 2007 will not start after battery replacement

Is it possible you disconnected one of the sensors connected to the battery terminal cables when you did the install?

I'm still curious what your battery voltage is at idle. If it is low - it would show that your alternator is on it's way out.

Re: 2007 will not start after battery replacement

Not saying it is not the battery - but I too have disconnected my battery multiple times - as well as replaced it once after a brutal Texas summer - and I have not experienced the issues you described. I mean - when you say it doesn't start - is it cranking? It could be a fuel delivery issue if it i...

Re: Ford recalls 539,000 minivans, SUVs worldwide

Ford isn't doing a recall because the NHTSA is recommending cleaning the throttle body instead of actually fixing the problem. Is cleaning the throttle body something that can be done at home, and if so how? Been searching for a how to and had no luck. http://www.myfordfreestyle.com/forums/viewtopi...

Re: Throttle Body/Transmission issue solved!

Did I somehow fail to see the solution to this problem in this thread? It looks like you have identified the root cause more than provide a solution.

Re: $8.98 Transaxle Roll Resistor Replacement

For me - I don't think it is needed. I was able to get the bolt off real easy. I was able to swing the firewall bar out of the way enough to clear the hole and pull out all the broken rubber within before I realized that the new mount was not a perfect replacement. So I put the rubber back in, and r...

Re: $8.98 Transaxle Roll Resistor Replacement

I don't think you need to do step 2. In Step 3 - I think the idea is to make the hole the size of the V70 part without removing the original ring. If you remove it - you will find as I did that the V70 part is much smaller than the Ford part. I do believe you need to file down the bolt hole sides of...

Re: $8.98 Transaxle Roll Resistor Replacement

Alright - I have to ask if the '07 model changed the roll resistor. I purchased the part from the link in the first page, and went to do the exchange today. I found that the old part is probably a third bigger than the new part, so I didn't do the swap just yet. Edit: Without the pics on the first p...

Re: Car seat???

Will it just be your wife and the kid in the car? You might get away with pushing the passenger seat forward all the way and put a bucket baby seat behind it. I'm not sure if you have more room in your '05 than what I do in my '04, but I had the car bucket seat in the middle of the back seat - stick...

Re: $8.98 Transaxle Roll Resistor Replacement

I have my car in for some maintenance, and they pointed out that this part was busted. Wanted to charge me $350 to replace. I'm so glad I have seen this site, and know a much cheaper way to correct the problem.

Re: Freestyle and Steep Mountain roads......WOW !!!

Hey Africa - I will say I don't like pushing the car too much either, which is why I turned off the Cruise Control after the first hill. Cruise control was driving me nuts because it was revving up the engine like crazy both uphill (to keep up the speed) and downhill (to slow down the speed). I opte...

Re: Freestyle and Steep Mountain roads......WOW !!!

Aside from me not liking the car revving up to >5K RPMs for minutes at a time and the fact the owners manual warns against letting the car rev at high RPMs for prolonged periods of time, there really is no problem. I'm sticking to what I said - I did find it to be underpowered in the hills. I'm gues...

Re: Freestyle and Steep Mountain roads......WOW !!!

a V8 Nissan Armada...........I love my Freestyle. However I don't think it has all that power to impress..... you're comparing a V8 with a V6 for same power? No - I'm simply stating that the Freestyle doesn't have the power to make me say "Wow! this is awesome" on mountain roads like the OP does.
