Getting the freestyle back

I've decided to switch cars with my daughter in college. She has been driving my 2005 Freestyle for the past 5 years but will graduate with a masters in Flavor Chemistry. Since the Freestyle is leaking a qt of oil every 2,000 miles I decided to give her our 2005 Lexus LS 430 and make my last 2 teena...

Re: Adding/fixing 06' Freestyle

The Freestyle at best is worth $3k and at worst about $1k. Mine is worth about $1,400 so it is not worth sinking any money beyond minor maintenance. I might leave the keys in mine while parked in some inner city hood and then report it stolen. __________________________________________________...

Re: New to site

That's awesome and gives me hope for our Freestyle that only has 165,000 on it. Mine is leaking about a quart of oil every 2,000 miles but its not worth tearing the engine apart to find the leak. _____________________________________________________ "During the Middle Ages, probably one of the bigge...

Re: 2006 Freestyle for parts

After repair, today or a year from now, a dealer would give you $1500 trade-in value, and then he would send it to auto auction. $3000 for a 13 year old vehicle seems like a lot to put into this vehicle, unless you really cant find anything else you like better than this exact vehicle. I would thin...

All the parts I listed have at different points in time been reported by members as being useful, including you when you told us here about one of your windows being shattered by some bizarre paranormal visitation event. Topic is still on here.... your compressor work too, among others. The clearly...

Re: Replacement of coolant by vacuum. Home made equipment.

Far be it for me to tell anyone how to live his life, but my first reaction is, why bother? The service instructions call for the coolant to be changed every 100,000 miles. Good God, how many times do you expect to change the coolant during the time you own the car? Once? Routine oil changes? Hell ...

Re: If you were going to part out a Freestyle then...

You would be better of just buying a relatively good Freestyle, maybe one owner, and selling as much of the other two FS as you can before selling the rest as scrap. ___________________________________________________________ “If we could just get everyone to close their eyes and visualize world pea...

Re: Where is the best place to buy a CVT transmission?

I have an 07 ford freestyle cvt awd transmission that went out and will not go into gear. Where is the best place to buy a used or even new transmission from if it's not to much. I have a little bit of money put up but not much. So I will be buying the transmission and most likely putting the new o...

I've had 2 adults and 8 kids plus luggage in my Freestyle a few years ago. Just ask Africa_FS_07 to verify. __________________________________________________________________ “Dad always thought laughter was the best medicine, which I guess is why several of us died of tuberculosis." jaunty75
