Re: CVT transmission Lawsuit

My 2005 freestyle is still going strong (albeit with a 1 qt oil leak every 3 months). As long as it keeps driving I don't have to worry about buying another car. Once it kicks the bucket I will scrap it after parting out what I can. It's not worth investing more than $500 in parts.

Re: Africa / knowitall thread

I would not have an issue pulling a pop-up camper with the Freestyle. Years ago I pulled a 6x12 large trailer and had 3 adults and 3 kids in the Freestyle while going up and down mountains in Colorado. __________________________________ "I wish that I had a kryptonite cross, then I could repe...

Jaunty75 and I are going to be talking more now that I have a love for Oldsmobiles. Do a search under my name and brake tool to find the answer. Re: Africa / knowitall thread

Most importantly, next time, don't take this car to the restaurant, and put some punctuation marks in your freakin' message!!! Jaunty: Please give the man some kind considerations. If this were my vehicle I would be screaming, ranting and nowling with no punctuations whatsoever. KAH, it was a freak...

Re: New Radio

The trim kit was purchased at the same time as the radio and from the same source, Crutchfield. The site suggests the needed kit, and it's often thrown in free if you buy a radio. That kit had what was needed to turn the unused space into the storage space. O jaunty75, jaunty75, wherefore art thou ...

My battery is toast. It is a Motorcraft that is 42 months old. I think the battery before that only lasted 4 years.

Re: [walkthrough] How to replace an alternator on a Freestyle

I finished replacing the alternator. A few suggestions. Have a helper with the installation of the serpentine belt. It took me and a helper 20 minutes to get it on. I spent 2 hours on Monday getting the alternator out. I spent 2 hours Tuesday getting the alternator back in. When installing the alter...

Re: [walkthrough] How to replace an alternator on a Freestyle

7 years later and 60,000 miles I'm putting in my 3rd alternator. Fortunately I have a lifetime warranty at O'Reillys. Once I'm done I'm going to sell the Freestyle so my daughter doesn't have to be embarrassed at college. Is Africa_FS_07 (aka jaunty75) still alive? I hope a hippo didn't take a...
