Re: Best Price on CVT Fluid

Then you have never met my local FORD dealer. Oh, come on. You expect me to believe that the Ford dealer doesn't do service that it says it will and then puts that on a sticker and puts that on a car? No chance. That kind of dishonesty would be caught very quickly, and that dealer wouldn't be in bu...

Re: "AWD Malfunction" in message center

At the risk of angering the gods of all things mechanical I am going to call my project done. I have been driving it for better than a week now in cold temps and testing it on every slick spot i have seen. no error codes, always locks in now and works great even pulling out of the cod garage and mak...

Re: Best Price on CVT Fluid

Ford offers a 25% or so discount to local mechanical and body shops, I order my ford only stuff thru them. Im sure there are resellers online that buy discounted and resell as well. another thought, wallmart sells motorcraft oil, I wonder iff they could special order the oil and filters in, never us...

Re: Buy or not to buy a Freestyle

I agree, they are a great car, they come in both standard automatic and cvt, if you fear the cvt because it is somewhat untested stay away from it but they are the best deal as people pay less for them because of the unknown. Mine is awd and cvt, 80k miles before the first trouble light. You have pr...

Re: "AWD Malfunction" in message center

They had the lid off the dem, i can tell, there is fresh black sealer around the tin, beyond that they only said they tested it. I put it all back together today and went out for a drive, so far no errors and everything seems to be working fine. it is also 25 degrees today and the the problem seemed...

Re: "AWD Malfunction" in message center

Just more FYI and testing info. We have received and tested your DEM unit, the only problem we see in it is a pump driver that appears to have been overloaded. This will happen if the pump itself is on the way out. Before we go ahead with the rebuild we need you to the following test. Apply 12V to t...

Just did the cvt service last month, took longer to get the fluid and filters than change the oil. Still working fine for me.

Re: TSB for TC light - defective rear diff pressure switch

I will know more about it in a week or so but i just shipped my dem off to a company in canada who will test it and repair it if required. $500 shipped if it needs repair and just pay shipping if its ok. It also comes with a lifetime repair warranty. Assuming the DEM is my problem, that beats the be...

Re: Replaced 2005 SE intrument cluster with 2007 SEL

I think you will need some help. I had a wrecked 2004 mustang with the cool cobra dash, I sold the dash out of the donor car to someone wnating to upgrade a standard mustang. the word waqs that they needed the VIN # of the donor car to match the dash to the computer passive annti theft system before...

Re: "AWD Malfunction" in message center

Its still not right, I want to do some more tests today or tomorrow. I drove it 250 miles over the weekend, the awd was on all the way there and off all the way home. I ran the system test from the steering wheel a few times and it said awd OK all the way home. yesterday it came back on again and I ...

Re: "AWD Malfunction" in message center

http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q70/Bigblockbandit/CIMG0139.jpg So I decided to check and clean the pump tonight. 6 torx bolts out of the "prop shaft" dropped the exhaust out of the way and dropped the carrier bearing so the shaft would back out of the flange. Put the impact to the retaining nut...

Re: New to me 2005 SEL owner hid suspension break!

there were a couple parts cars on ebay last i looked, probably cheapest to order the parts you need that way and then instal them or have somebody install it for you. I have not heard of that failure yet.

Re: "AWD Malfunction" in message center

I have not pulled the DS or the pump yet. I replaced the oil sensor only so far. I got my laptop pulling codes again and there are a pile of them now. u0101 tcm not responding, and something about a can line. looks like maybe the plug in to the dem could have a loose wire or something from taking it...
