Re: DIY - Taurus X Intermediate shaft seal replacement

Does anyone know why this seems to be more of a Taurus X issue and not a Freestyle issue? Did Ford/Volvo change the design of the seal?

Re: cruise control

I am starting to have the same problem. I drive 26 miles each way to work and back and it is mostly highway so I use the cruise control most of the time. Morning driving usually doesn’t give me a problem. It's the drive home in the evening that I notice the problem. I set the cruise control and the ...

Re: 2008 Taurus X AWD SEL hood corrosion

My 06 Freestyle has the bubbles as well. Do not make the mistake I did and use a car wash hand held sprayer to clean the bugs off of the front of the hood. I took a swath of paint right off the hood.

Re: $8.98 Transaxle Roll Resistor Replacement

That's odd. It fit perfectly into my bracket. In fact, I had to remove a little bit of the old rubber to get it to fit. I had to use a soft hammer to get it centered into the hole. Maybe this guy removed too much rubber?

Re: $8.98 Transaxle Roll Resistor Replacement

Purchased the roll resistor from Amazon.com for under 9 bucks (free shipping). Installed it over the wekend after changing the motor oil. Works good as new. Thanks for the cheap fix! Part number? I beleive this is a Volvo replacment part. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0066RUGGE/ref=as_li_ss_tl?...

Re: A/C Pressure Sensor/Switch/Transducer

System definatly has to be evacuated before your remove the old pressure switch. Maybe you can save some money by providing the part (pressure switch) to your mechanic since the system has to be evacuated anyways. Good Luck.

Re: Driver's heated seat went out

Do a search on the word "Dorman". It is the aftermarket brand seat heater pad that seems to be the prefered replacment. Please note that most problems are either becasue there is a short in the bottom pad or the back pad, which causes neither to work so most people replace both just to be safe. You ...

Re: LED Puddle Light Uprade Project

Very nice post and product. I wish I had one of these mounted on the liftgate (when open facing down). The interior lights just don't do enough.

Or you can use this tool which has a provision to allow you to turn in clockwise rotation as well as counterclockwise for the opposite side. I used it and it works great! :P

What tool is needed to remove the drain plug on the transmission? I don't want to strip the plug as a result of using the wrong tool. I have a 2006 model. Thanks!

Hi wonderllama1969,

Let me know if that part works. I am a Amazon Prime member and would just assume order it from them but want to make sure that is the correct part number first. Thanks! :P

Re: CVT fluid substitute

My gas cap says that it recommends BP gasoline but I doubt it will harm my engine if I use another brand of gasoline or void my warranty (assuming it was still under warranty). I don't use Motorcraft engine oil either but I havn't had any problems there either. My point is, all fluids have to meet s...

Re: Car seat???

+2 on the Chicco Key Fit. My now 3 year old daughter used it and now my 1 year old son uses it. Nice thing about this seat is that you can have a base unit in dads vehicle and one in the moms car and just use one carrier. Plus if you have the matching stroller the seat locks right into the stroller ...
