Re: returning Coolant leaks despite repairs

Wrap a few layers of white paper towel around the suspected leak area to make sure thats where is leaking from, not just running from somewhere else and then dripping off. Check to see if anti freeze is on the center or edge of the paper towel in the morning. Turns out my leak was one of the clamps ...

Re: Should I buy?

I forgot to mention the spark plugs are on schedule to be replaced at 100K miles, if they havent been already. The plugs on the firewall side require the intake plenum to be removed first as it covers those plugs. Some owners have done the job themselves, getting the EGR valve off can be difficult, ...

Re: Should I buy?

The throttle body getting dirty and causing surging when in gear and lightly pressing the gas pedal was one issue. Cleaning it from time to time seems to fix it. There was a TSB on those vehicles to re-program the ECU and clean the throttle body all at the same time. Yours might have had that done o...

Re: my 1st post, manual for FS?

I got my dealership factory repair manuals from Ebay a few years ago. Bought each manual separately, as each one I wanted was listed at a price I wanted to pay.

Re: Lost a keyless entry button

If you have a u-pull-it, pick-a-part, salvage yard, ask if they have a 2005-2007 Freestyle. If so, pay the $2 to $5 to get into the yard. Bring some tools like a razor knife blade, small blade screw driver, putty knife, etc. From what Ive seen, the whole pad or the face of it pops off, clips being o...

Re: Passsenger door lock not working as power lock - where to start?

There is a lock actuator in each door. The one in the pass. door has failed. It could be an expensive job to have the dealer repair it. The part itself isnt too expensive, you can get them (made in china) on Ebay for $9 or so. Its the labor that runs the bill up. Get an estimate from the dealer and ...

Re: Steering tight

https://www.myfordfreestyle.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5996 You cant buy just the U-joint. You can either spray it with lube once a month, or buy the whole shaft with the U-joint attached. You would be lucky to find one in a junk yard that doesnt have some wear on it, since the lower one is exposed ...

This forum is for 2005 to 2007 Freestyles, not the newer style that you own. Since no one in the USA has one? I dont think we can help you.

Rodken:

Some have reported stripped trans pan screw holes when re-tightening steel screws in the aluminum trans housing. Some, if they change filters at all, change the HP filter only, as it sees the trans fluid first, then the fluid goes through the pan filter as a secondary filter.

Re: Changed throttle body, still fail safe mode

Have you seen this? https://www.obd-codes.com/p2135 I'd check the wiring harness from the throttle body for rubbing, which might have damaged wires. IDK where the accelerator pedal sensor is, but check the wiring harness there also. If harnesses are good, Id try a accelerator pedal sensor from the j...

Re: Rear Window Defroster Delay In Turning On

I would suspect a bad switch. I dont remember any complaints here, of worn wires in the in car wire harness, from rubbing against something under the dash.
