I BID YOU ALL A FOND FAREWELL

I have owned three FS's over the past ten years with great success and satisfaction. My current (last) FS was a 2005 Limited with all the bells and whistles and served me well for the past two years. But, all good things come to an end at some time or another. I live on Staten Island here in NY City...

Re: Ac condenser interchange

Just replaced my AC Compressor last week. Old unit had leaky seal and lost freon over course of the summer. New unit cost $225 which included the Compressor, Drier, Front Expansion Valve, Pint of Oil and Gasket Kit. Compressor comes with a one year warranty. I traded my electrical skills for AC repl...

Cooper CS5 Ultimate Touring. Awesome on wet or dry roads and great in the snow with the AWD FS.

Re: 2007 w/ code P1889

When I had the P1889 code, my son in law and I did a full driving test on the drive train and found the trouble to be the DP Switch. There are two in the Rear Module. Changing it was a bear. I fount a small torx head tip and found a socket that fit it. Space is a premium and nimble fingers a must. O...

Re: NEW THROTTLE BODY

UPDATE ON THE NEW THROTTLE BODY I replaced the TB back in May due to an electronic control failure. I am glad to report that buying a NEW TB from TASCA Parts was the right and correct decision. I had asked the folks at TASCA whether or not the PCM would require reflashing and they said probably not....

Re: Which Optima Battery

I have read the Optima website information on the Yellowtop and Redtop batteries. They cost between $210 and $250. Seems like a steep price for a battery compared to an Interstate at $130. Their warranty is only 36 months. Using some basic logic, the FS is over 10 years old now and while it has low ...

I somewhat agree. Makes it look like a Volvo Cross Country with the black bumper. Sorry.

Re: Very High Fuel Consumption Freestyle 2005

1. Air and fuel filters. 2. Low roll resistance tires? 3. Have the car performance checked with a good diagnostic computer in a drive test. 4. Clean the Throttle Body. Mine was cleaned and after a year started coding. My mileage here in NYCity was down to 14.2 all around and only hit 20+ when I fill...

Re: Where To Find Replacement Ball Joint Boots

I do not believe the boots are sold separately. If you purchased the Mevotech Arms, they are warranted. If you purchased from Rock Auto, they will honor the warranty directly.

Re: LEAKY SUNROOF DRAINS.

Each A Piller has one torx head screw under holding it securely and once removed, carefully pull the cover away from the body.
