Saying goodbye after 240,00 km

Our 2006 Freestyle Limited AWD was rear ended on the highway and has been written off, so it is time to say goodbye to it and the forum. Great info here, and I did contribute posts about Heated seats along the way. 10 years and 240,000 kms, has served us well. All I have left is 2 headphones for the...

Re: Illumination on headlight switch

just the icons around the switch knob are illuminated. I bought the bulbs mentioned from Radio Shack (the Source) in Canada, and it works great.

Re: vibrations while driving

I have not rotated the tires but my wife says the vibrations were there before the new tires. I did not notice however. The rotor could be an issue but I feel the vibrations without touching the brakes.

vibrations while driving

I seem to have vibrations that I can feel through the seat while at highway speeds. I have brand new tires that were balanced twice to be sure, but the vibration is still there. Feeling it through the seat normally indicates it is coming from the rear. Has anyone experience this as well, and or foun...

Re: 96000 Miles, Terrible Surge, Check Engine Light, P0340

You need to clean the throttle body and it should resolve the surge. I had the same issue and found info on this site. Easy to do if you have mechanical aptitude and only takes about 30 minutes.

Re: Surging Problem

Thanks for the info on the throttle body cleaning. I did a quick youtube search to see the process, and did the clean up in about 30 minutes. Very easy to do. The back side of the throttle body was totally black and after cleaning it with intake cleaner the car is not surging any more. Thanks again ...

Re: Gas Cap - COME ONE FORD

I have a locking gas cap for our Freestyle and when the key is in the lock I can hang it on the tab on the fuel door, by the key ring.

By the way the gas cap will be for sale soon as the lease is up on the car in May. Anyone interested in a locking gas cap with 2 keys?

Re: Drivers side seat heater repair and costs

I would suggest testing the pad you replaced to make sure it is in good working order. Ohmeter for continuity would be my suggestion. Did you buy from a reputable source? Is there a warranty or exchange on it? It could be a bad pad.

Re: Drivers side seat heater repair and costs

I would say check the connectors with an ohmeter to see if you have continuity before changing out the pad. If there is no continuity then you have a broken connection. You can test the bottom pad then the back pad to see the diffference.

good luck

Re: Headphone Symbol on Audio Display: What Does It Mean?

Pushing 4 and 6 at the same time will allow passengers in the mid and rear seats to watch a movie with headsets and you can still play the radio from the front speakers at the same time.

I think it is outlined in the owners manual, but this will work.

Re: Drivers side seat heater repair and costs----FIXED

thanks to pistol64 for your post, it helped. I checked the 4 pin connector under the seat closer to the center console side and had power when switching on/off the heater button. (check the outermost pins with a trouble light) I then disconnected the two halves and tested the outer pins on the heate...
