Re: How does the dealer read the keyless factory code?

Before you spend any money, look in 3 places. 1- Open your Owners Manual folder. Look in all the pockets for a blue and white plastic card from Ford with 6 digits on it. 2- Look inside the kickpanel on the driver's side for the BCM. It should have a label with 6 digits printed on it. 3- Remove the d...

Re: Backup sensors

My 2009 has 2 shorted parking sensors my dealer told me about 2 years ago. I bought 4 sensors on ebay for about $60. I need to crawl under the bumper and pop out the old sensors, swap the caps on them and install the new sensors. They can't be that hard to reach.

Re: Driver's Power Seat Track

Found my own answer. The Power Seat Track that was sent to me did not have Memory. The Technician transferred over the correct harness but he did not check the motors. The motors on the Power Seat Track only have TWO conductors on each of them. The motors I saved from the original Seat Track have 4 ...

Re: How does the dealer read the keyless factory code?

Factory Keyless Entry code is usually on a card placed inside your Owner's Manual cover.

Driver's Power Seat Track

Hello Everyone, I have an 09 Taurus X with the Power Memory Driver's Seat. The RH track of my seat stopped moving and my dealer diagnosed it as the seat track. FORD no longer makes the seat track assembly because it is no longer a POPULAR part. I don't know why FORD would think that a $1,094.00 part...

Re: Broken rear coil springs

This week, my dealership told me that my right rear spring is broken and my left rear spring is cracked. I guess Ford never learned their lesson from spring manufacturers ? My 1998 Ford Contour had both front springs break but they were covered by a recall. Any chance the Taurus X will get a recall ...

Re: Back-up/Reverse Sensor network.....help please

Sorry Africa_FS_07,

When I looked at Rock Auto the T36003 was only selling for $36.
Someone must have gave the selling price away to them...

Quick, don't tell them what the price of gas is now !!!

Re: 2009 Taurus X LTD AWD bad PTU

FORD replaced the PTU and covered 40% of the repair.
It comes with a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty.

I've got 93,000 on it now and the PTU makes noise when it engages now.

Going to make a point of it at the next service.

2009 Taurus X LTD AWD bad PTU

Took my 09 Trex to the dealer for an oil leak that was leaving black spots in the center of my driveway. I thought it might be the transfer case since it was in the center of the Trex. Got a call back and it was confirmed. PTU has leaked oil and is now worn out and needs replacement. $1300 for the r...

Sensors can be had from ROCKAUTO.com for a fairly reasonable price.
They also sell them INDIVIDUALLY. :)

Re: Knocking from Behind the Dashboard?

The repair that MR654 talks about is a knocking sound caused by a stripped WORM GEAR. Once the worm gear wears out (it is made of plastic) it will strip and knock as it turns. My 2009 TX LTD AWD with EATC and AUX AC is not making this sound. As soon as I push the recirculator button and sound goes a...

Re: Drivers side seat heater repair and costs

Hello All, I have a 2009 Taurus X LTD AWD. The driver's seat heater is no longer working. When I push the heater button it lights for about a second sand then goes dark. I've read most of he posts here and see that the FORD design of the pad is not a great consideration. Is the VOLVO pad any better ...

Re: A change of tires?

The Michelin Primacys MXV4 225/60HR18 were over $200 each at Mavis Discount Tire. Michelin also rebated me $70 for buying 4 tires. Looking a their website now, they are $172 each. They are supposed to have a 6 year / 60,000 mile warranty. I don't want another set of these rags... Michelin has let me...

Re: A change of tires?

I have a 2009 TrX Ltd AWD. At 20k miles we got rid of the worn out Pirellis and put on a set of Michelin Primacy tires. The Primacy was supposed to be a 60k tire. We have 60k miles on the TrX now and the Michelins are all just about shot. I'm about to try out a set of Cooper CS4 Touring tires. They ...

Not that is a vanity item, but I've seen bumper bars made for Mercedes M suvs.
It would be nice to have the same for the FreeStyle/TaurusX.
