Gear Selector Light

Anyone know how to get to the Gear Selector Light bulb? I got in the car the other night, started up the car, turned on the lights, grabbed the gear selector and realized it was not lit up so it was hard to see where "D" was. Odd thing was the lights came on later. I think either the bulb is on it's...

Re: Heated Seat light comes and then shuts off

The lights blink when the circuit is shorted, so it sounds like one of your heat pads is bad, or a wire is disconnected. Under the front of the seat you will see a square black box, that is the relay. Check for loose connections. If you look under the back of the seat, you will see a wire coming dow...

Rear Seat Entertainment Display Issue

The LCD display is starting to act funny. When my kids drop it down to watch a movie, the pic goes away at a certain point, so they have to push it all the way forward then come back slowly to get the pic to stay on. Same thing happened to my 2001 Excursion when I had it and I had to remove the syst...

Re: Heated Seat Repair Help

Found the heating pad on ebay for $39.99 shipped. Got it in the other day and installed it. Took a bit to figure out where the cable was connected, it is hidden under some leather at the back of the seat above the back rail. Disconnected and hooked up the new one and both pads worked! From there all...

Re: Drivers side seat heater repair and costs

I'm going through this dilema now. I bought the seat bottom heat pad from www.autopartswarehouse.com, around $50. Dummy me installed it without plugging it in 1st to see if it solved the problem. Spent the hour or so installing it only to find out it did not fix the problem. Pad was getting lukewarm...

Re: Heated Seat Repair Help

Dealer just did a pin point check, they claim the seat back heating element is the problem. They wanted $394 to do the job! Told them thanx but no thanx. Will start looking for a replacement element and will try to do myself as I did the seat bottom element. Has anyone replaced the seat back element?

Re: Heated Seat Repair Help

Cold weather here now and my seat still not working after replacing the heating element is ticking me off. Is there something else to check or is there a chance my new element is bad? I'm wondering if there is a wiring problem, maybe not enough juice going to the seat element or none at all. Switch ...

Roof Top Luggage Bag

I searched the archives and saw some owners have purchased bag carriers, like the Rain X or equivalent. I have stock side roof rails, no cross rails. Do I need these cross rails or can I mount the bag directly onto the roof and strap it to the side rails?

Re: Heated Seat Repair Help

Just wanted to share a tip with those endeavoring on repairing the heat element. I read another post where the member said you have to remove the seat and to plan on a 4 hour job. Kinda scared me away. I checked out the seat yesterday, saw the harness coming out from the seat bottom and disconnected...

Re: Heated Seat Repair Help

There isn't a seperate fuse for drivers side is there? The passenger side works fine. Haven't noticed anything else not working. Also, the light on the switch comes on, just no heat to the seat.

Heated Seat Repair Help

Found the TSB about the heated seat problem, but it does not explain how to get the seat out for repair and how to remove the seat bottom. Has anyone on this forum done this repair? How do you get the seat out and get to the heating element to replace it? I must have a bad connection because the sea...

Re: Wet Drivers Side Floor

Thanx for the help, my leak was being caused by this same issue. I watched as water ran out the tube through the firewall, then back down itself and onto the foam seal. Pulled the carpet again and that was the source of the water. Took the car to my friends shop, got it on a lift, and hooked up a tu...

Re: Wet Drivers Side Floor

More confusion, or maybe narrowing down the problem. After everything was dried out and put back together, I drove the car for a day and a half then checked under the floormat and alas, the carpet was showing signs of being wet again, dead center. We had no rain of any kind after I reassembled the c...
