Re: Embarrassing Freestyle moment

I worked at a Ford dealership back in the 80's and would on occasion cut keys using a special machine where you dialed in the code and cut the key using a a nibbler. It was not a duplicator and could cut keys without the original. The older keys has 5 tumblers with 5 possibilities each or about 3000...

Re: Headliner on TX

This is a very common problem with modern cars. If one of my kids opens there window and it is the only window open, you will get an unbelievable thumping sound. With the sunroof open there will be mild thumping sound at about 30 miles an hour. The best solution is to crack the rear windows an inch ...

Re: Reverse sensors are misbehaving

Twice in the last year, I have had a wet leaf stick to the sensor. I just get out and clear the sensor, and the problem goes away.

Re: Taurus X Limited question

The power fold seats only tumble forward and the folding operation is not powered. The power mechanism literally operates the manual controls that you would otherwise have to operate yourself. The real selling point is the heated second row, the kids love that feature.

Re: Gas Cap - COME ONE FORD

The 08 Taurus X has the hook. I loosen the cap, grab the strap and pull it and the cap to the hook.

Re: Factory Remote start keyfob and memory seats

If the regular keys do not work, you may have to associate the key with a memory position. Here is what you do, press the set button, press the unlock button on the key fob, then select the memory position. Now it has paired the key and the memory position.

Re: Factory Remote start keyfob and memory seats

I have the remote start, and I can confirm that it will not select a memory position, but it is really irrelevant since the remote start locks the doors. When you unlock the doors the seats will position themselves.

Re: Keypad Entry Code

There is a little card that is in the owners manual that has the code. Hopefully that is still in the manual. If not, I believe that there is a sticker on the cars computer that has the code. I am not sure where it is, but problem up under the dash somewhere. The dealer can retrieve it with the diag...

Re: taurus x crash test

Don't believe Consumer reports, They did not even test the vehicles. (Heard from word of mouth) Not that I am a big fan of CR, but they did test it, including an emergency avoidance maneuver. See the video. http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/resources/streaming/0712RT_FordTaurusX/0712RT_FordTaurusX...

If you read the manual, it states that the seat has a scale in it, and if there is little or no weight in the seat then the airbag will not deploy and the warning light will not come on. Add more weight up to about 100 lbs and the air bag will still not deploy but the light warning will come on. The...

With my single button fob, you have to hold the button down for about 2-3 seconds. It then locks all the doors, the horn beeps and then it turns on the engine. It will not work if any of the doors are opened when you press the button and it shutdown the engine if you touch the brake pedal. Also you ...

It is a separate but fairly small 1 button key fob. It does have significantly more range that the regular key fob.

You can see it if you browse the catalog at this web site.

The power liftgate is awesome. I can open the back from the front of the grocery store, grab the bags and just throw them in. When I get home open the back, lock all the doors, grab all the bags and hit the close button on the inside as I grab the last bag and walk away. The heated second row seats ...
