Re: Need help with fluid level

When you say "TCU", do you mean the Mechatronics unit inside the CVT?

Re: Rear diff is impossible to remove.

There is no information on how to do this
Do you own a service manual? The first step, on page 205-02-08, says remove the rear subframe assembly. Have you done that?

Go to Crutchfield.com, they have all the kits and adaptors and such to make this happen.

Re: CVT Issue

Certainly changing the fluid/filters should be your first try at fixing it. The fluid turns kind of brown when it gets old/dirty. If it's pink, that would worry me.

Re: Can I install this tire size?

You might have some rubbing since the 55 is wider than the 65 but only one way to tell for sure.

You will need an inch-pound torque wrench to not strip out the bolts.

We used to have an SEL. echojohnny is right that the manual procedure is not quite right. You will find the procedure I worked out on ours here:

Re: Tranmission swap

PATS is integrated in the ECU, so if you use the existing ECU, then no, you do not have to do anything to PATS.

Re: Ball Joint Replacement from HELL!!!

Those would typically be referred to as "tie rod ends", not "ball joints", to be clear. The ball joints are in the lower a-arms and support the suspension.

What model to you have? SE? SEL? The procedure is different for each.

Re: Tranmission swap

There is no such a thing as an AWD version of the 6-speed. If you put it in the 6-speed Aisin trans, you will have to give up AWD. All of the AWD 500s and Montegos came with the CVT.

Re: Seat belt chime occasionally while driving (and Airbag code 53)

If you will go to the owners manual, there is a procedure there to disable the seat belt chime.
