Re: Akebono ProACT Brake Pads on a Ford Freestyle

The noise from the "exhaust baffle" he's refering to is not normal for all Freestyles. I had a rattling noise from under the car which turned out to be a bad flex pipe. It's a flexible joint between the manifold Y pipe and the exhaust pipe to allow the exhaust system to move in all directions. I had...

Re: Continental ContiProContact - anyone tried them?

Everyone who has a 05 through 07 SE or SEL has them. Mine are wearing fine. I rotate at 5000 miles which means twice with 11500 miles on the car and I keep the pressure at the recommended 32/34 psi. Took my car in today to have the exhaust flex pipe replaced and the vehicle inspection slip stated I ...

Re: Test drove T/X and Flex today

I stopped to make an appointment at my dealer for a vibration noise from under the car, (hopefully not the CVT), which only occurs at 1400 rpm's. It sounds like something loose and rattling. I was under the car and couldn't find any loose bolts and added rubber washers to the exhaust pipe heat shiel...

Re: window vent/visor?

I have the Genuine Ford window air deflectors and they are the stick on type. Searching on the web I don't believe I've ever seen the in-channel type. I like mine for the look and functionality. Although, they make quite a lot of noise at high speeds with the window down more than a couple of inches...

Re: Rear Bumper Pad

The clips may not be spreading out to hold in the hole like they should. I'd check to see it they can be replaced easily and try to order some from a dealer. I would hope that the clips for this type of application would be universal for all Fords and easy to order and purchase. A clip for the lower...

Re: Gas Mileage

I monitored gas mileage closely and averaged 28.2 for the entire trip. (3227 miles, 114.1 gal, $458.12).
I found a receipt on my desk from when I gassed up the night before: 3227 miles, 119.8 gal, $481.12, 26.9 mpg. Still excellent in my opinion.

Re: Gas Mileage

I just returned from a 3227 mile trip from Minneapolis to the Blue Ridge Parkway and back. I monitored gas mileage closely and averaged 28.2 for the entire trip. (3227 miles, 114.1 gal, $458.12). At one point I was getting 34+ mpg when driving 45 mph on new pavement with the cruise on through a cons...

Like I said, I change my (Mobil 1) synthetic oil every 6 months (spring and fall) regardless of the miles driven. As far as the cost, why do you care, I have a good job and dispose of the old oil properly. MaxKts, in my earlier post I was only stating that the oil reminder message was displaying. I ...

If you can't find an OEM clip, how about a small adjustable clamp?

The oil life reminder message started displaying at 3% Change Oil Soon, 1% Change Oil Soon and 0% Change Oil Now every time I started the car so I didn't have a choice, I had to pay attention. I change my synthetic oil every 6 months regardless of the miles driven. I drive the car for 10 miles or so...

Six quarts brings the oil level to about an eighth of an inch below the top of the cross hatching. If you take it to the dealer or a quick lube they only add 6 qts. I've found it takes 6qt and just a hair under 8oz (7.995oz) :) to fill to the top of the cross hatch marks. I change my synthetic every...

I'll pass on the nitrogen but I'll take that swampland in Florida. Disney World is built on a swamp, and so is most everything else in Florida.
