Ford Service Disappoints

Is it just our dealership (Crossroads, Cary, NC) that has me explain the problem on the phone to make an appointment, only to have me explain it all again when I bring it in? or do all do this for some reason (reminds me of that kid that keeps saying "What?” after every sentence) Why don’t they prin...

Little switch

Hi, your previous owner may have installed a toggle switch (like I did) to prevent the dvd player from running all the time while the ignition is on. Ours would run even when no movie was in play, and the fan became annoying to the passenger in the front. Now when we take a trip, we throw the switch...

For what it's worth, I resolved a hard to detect whistle once by finding that the air was catching a thin layer of plastic on the passenger side of the windshield seal. This plastic is the real thin type you might find on a new piece of glass they put there to prevent scratching. it went away when i...

Exactly! My wife drives our Freestyle, but on a trip from NC to Oklahoma I had the occasion to fill up once or twice. Like the price of gas isnt agravating enough, i tucked it out of the way.
Might add the car did nice on the highway, but only saw 25mpg.

Flex Fuel

Does the '05 Freestyle run on Flex Fuel? thought I read it in owners manual. Do you have any comments on this approach? does it cost more? I heard it may use 25% more flex fuel than gasoline...... comments?

Overinflated

Yes, our Freestyle was bouncing around like an exercise ball, side to side... our tires were inflated to 45 or so.... idiots, whats the dealer prep charge for? Set to 34, much better. They say they over inflate them so when they sit on the dealer lot, they do not get square tires.

Acura...

I traded a 2001 Acura CL type-S.... it took premium gas, and was expensive to insure. I dropped gas by 40 cents a gallon.... it was my only foreign car purchase.

Rear lock solution

To copy the nice feature our Explorer has, I used the second key fob and some velcro in the rear cargo area. We use it when the back hatch is open to set the lock. Nice when you use the keyless entry pad to get into the car for something and dont actually have the keys in your hand.

Re: SEL Audio Reviews

I am greatly DISAPPOINTED with our sound system. Just returned from dealer, who says "buyer beware" and does not plan to do anything to resolve it. So, now I will have to escalate. (my Explorer still has better sound after 10 years). The MP3- 6 Disk CD radio has poor reception. The sound is very wea...
