Hey everyone. I have an '06 Freestyle SEL with the sandy colored leather interior. A few months ago, I picked up some italian food and stupidly put it on the middle seat (I have 60/40 split). That food spilled, oil leaked, I cleaned it as best as I could. As it stands today, that spill has caused the leather to become discolored, harden, crack, and tear. It's on the 60 portion of the 60/40. Is there a way to get new leather to cover it, or would I have to get a new seat? If so where and how much does that run? This is the only thing wrong with the car and it drives me crazy every time I look at it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Best bet is a salvage yard leather seat. I paid $125 for the middle 60 for in leather for mine (in Roseville CA) . Now I have 6 or 7 passenger seating when needed. The Upholstery is easy to swap but expensive. I can send you the service manual on how to remove and reinstall the Upholstery if you like. Worst case is to get the 40 seat and have 6 passenger seating. Should cost you less than $200.00 and installation takes 5 minutes.

If you can remove the cover, an upholsery shop may be able to change the bad panel. But this will cost you! The used seat is the lowest cost and best alternative.

www.car-part.com put in your information and you will see how many are out there.

Best of luck.

Go to an auto upholstery shop and have them take a look at it. They might be able to cut out the bad portion and sew in something new in such a way that you'll never notice it. I've seen shops work wonders. It'll cost you nothing to find out.
