Has anyone attempted to change the power steering belt on a 2008 Ford Taurus X?

I just purchased a used Taurus X and the belt(s) were squeaking... more specifically, the P/S belt seems to be squeaking. I ordered the main serp. belt and tensioner pulley from a LAPS. However, I had to get the P/S from the Ford dealer since not a single LAPS or online store had an after market solution even listed.

The main serpentine belt was your run of the mill spring tensioned belt. 10 minutes to change both the belt and tensioner pulley. However, It seems Ford decided the break out the P/S pump from the main serpentine belt. And from a quick assessment, there appears to be no tensioner???

Does anyone know the procedure for changing the P/S belt? Is there something I just didn't see while squeezing under the car to peek at things?

Any help here would be greatly appreciated since I go to pick up the new belt tonight from the dealership... and my wife said that she doesn't want to drive it until it's fixed.

Thanks in advance!

Well... I went to the local Ford dealership and asked to see the factory repair procedure for the p/s belt. As it turns out, there is no tensioner. Ford has applied a "stretch belt".

This is most likely the reason that I couldn't find this belt from a single after market supplier...

The Tech printed the procedure for me. I will post it up here once I get it scanned so others wondering how to replace their squeaky power steering belt will have some guidance.

I didn't know there was a seperate belt? I'll have to check since I just changed the serpentine belt and didn't see any other belt.

Yup... on my 08, the P/S pump is on the back of the motor and runs on a completely separate belt...
