I am thinking of installing a stone/bug deflector on my TX. The only bug deflector I can find for the TX is the Ford accessory:

http://www.fordaccessoriesstore.com/GfaWeb/catalog.do?prodInfo=Taurus%20X~2009~8F9Z_16C900_A

Does anyone have any experience with this deflector? In particular, I am interested in, first of all, whether it is effective at all, and, if so, what effect it might have on gas mileage. I am also interested in how it mounts to the hood--does it use existing screw holes on the hood or does it have to be attached using automotive tape? Can it be easily removed and does it cause any damage to the hood? What is the quality of the build?

Are any other deflectors available for the TX? I looked at the WeatherTech line of deflectors, but there doesn't appear to be one for the TX.

Thanks,

Martin

I installed the Lund deflector. No screw holes, easy to remove. the only draw back was the rubber bumpers. But you cannot see them once installed. Check my post for the bugflector authored by me.

The fasteners where a pop in expanding fastener that you can screw out with a Phillips screwdriver. They holes were already there in the hood. I removed my Flector to paint it, and reinstalled with no issues
