I went out to my 2005 FreeStyle this morning tried using the key pad to unlock the car and it wouldn't work. I grabbed my spare key to manually unlock the car opened it and noticed I had left my main set of keys in the ignition. I tried to start the car but nothing works... power locks, power seats, head lights, radio, etc... It's like there isn't an engine at all.

The theft indicator light is flashing fast and the only thing the manual suggest is taking the car to a dealership. Needless to say, it would have to be towed. Does anyone know a way I can manually shut off the light to get the car to start again?

Before you panic and spend needless amounts of money, check your battery. Remove key from ignition for five minutes or so, then try boosting and if the car starts, let it run to relearn its idle, if it doesn't start, then you can start calling the dealer.

Thanks, I tried to restart it with no luck. The break pedal is also locked up which makes me think, it's more than just the battery.

When you turn the key to hear a fast clicking noise? That's a dead give-away that the battery doesn't have enough juice to start. Did you try jump starting it yet?

When I turned the key, there wasn't a clicking noise that's why I didn't think it was the battery. There wasn't anything happening.I called a machanic shop. He said if you disconnect the battery then try jumping it, it might restart the commputer. I finally did get it started. It just needed a jump. Had no idea. The guy at Advanced auto parts said, even though nothing was on, my leaving the keys in the ignition over night might have set the Anti Theft sensor off and locked everything up for protection??

A Jump start and a boost is the same thing. That's what I talked about in my first reply. Glad you got it going.
